Easter Planning

I hope you are all looking forward to celebrating Jesus this Easter!  Below you will find several Easter planning resources.

Blessings to you and yours!

Free Printable Easter Banner
This banner is one of the crafts we made in my Bible study class.  You can see a picture and download it for free by going to http://angelaturner.com/easter-banners-free-printable/  It is a super easy banner you can print, cut out and use to decorate your home for Easter.  It is a great reminder of what Easter is all about.

Easter Planner
Whether you are still working to finish up your Easter preparations, or haven’t gotten started, here is a list to help you get everything organized and easily accomplished.

Step 1 – All About Him: Put out your Bible with a bookmark to the Easter verses you would like to read.  Put out your resurrection eggs or other activity to make it a celebration that is all about Jesus.
Step 2 – Decorate: If you like to put out a few Easter decorations now is the time!
Step 3 – Baskets & Eggs: Do you have everything together for the Easter baskets and egg hunt?  Double check and make a list of any needed additions.
Step 4 – Check Closets: Plan what everyone will wear on Easter Sunday and make sure it fits, is washed or taken to the cleaners.  Shoes still fit?  Make a list of any needed items.
Step 5 – Menu Planning: Write down your menu, find recipes, make a grocery list, order needed items, find serving pieces or add paper plates, napkins…to your list.  You will find an easy Easter menu below.

Now that your lists are made, do any needed shopping early in the week so you have everything in place to enjoy a peaceful, fun Easter celebration that is all about Jesus!

Easy Easter Menu
Here is an Easter menu designed to be easy and ready to enjoy after Easter church services.  This menu is also intended to help you put together a wonderful lunch that also allows you to enjoy the fun (rather than being stuck in the kitchen all day).  Everything can be prepped ahead of time.  Items with a * beside them are things I often purchase.

Veggie tray with dip*
Fresh fruit with dip*
Honey Baked Ham*
Spinach, Mandarin Oranges, and Slivered Almond Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing (add dressing just before serving)
Steamed Peas and Carrots (microwaved and seasoned)
Crock Pot Green Beans
Deviled Eggs
Tea and Pink Lemonade
Easter Cake*
Chocolate Candy and Jelly Beans (of course)*
Coffee (with lots of flavored creamers)

If you have lots of people coming for Easter you can always divide up the menu items.  We do this a lot in my family.  For example, my mother-in-law brings the salad, my parents make the green beans, my sister-in-law makes the deviled eggs…

My Favorite Easter Verses

I love adding scripture to my Easter decorations.  You can do this by writing them on a chalk board to display, put in a frame, printed on small cards and nestled into your centerpiece…  Below are some of the verses I enjoy using.

“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”  Hebrews 12:2

“But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed.”  Isaiah 53:5

“that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,”
I Corinthians 15:4

“But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.”  I John 1:7

“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!”  John 1:29

“Why do you seek the living among the dead?  He is not here, but has risen.”
Luke 24:5
